I love it!
I don’t like wearing wrist watches, so having a smart ring is PERFECT for me! I love how durable it is, it’s easy to clean, and the app that comes with it is GREAT! The tracking on this thing is flawless and it uses light sensors to track my vitals, so it doesn’t even feel like a smart device, just a regular ring! It also charges very quickly, so if I’m using the bathroom or taking a shower at home, I just pop it on the charger for 10-15 minutes and it’s good for a few days! I only do it daily just to establish a good routine, and I have forgotten before and let the battery get low, but still haven’t had the power die on me yet!I can see it being an issue for lifting weights since it’s coated in stainless still and a little bulky, but otherwise very comfortable for other forms of exercise! I can also see it being a problem because of the red and green light sensors at night, it might be disruptive to light sleepers in a dark room, but I just keep my hands under my blankets or pillows, and I sleep just fine! It doesn’t light up all the time, just periodically throughout the night. If the tiny lights at night might bother you, you can probably put a thick sock or a glove over your hand at night to block the light. I’m personally not inconvenienced by it at night, and I like that I can’t feel anything when it checks my vitals (heart rate, blood oxygen, temperature, just to name a few).I wound up subscribing to the app anually because I really liked how easy it was to set up and how thorough its analysis was for my overall health.UPDATE:Recently I noticed the ring was draining too fast between charges and I actually needed to charge it everyday! I reached out to customer service via the app, they asked a few questions, and shipped me another one immediately! It was refurbished, not brand new, but it works like new and I would never have known the difference if they didn’t tell me! I keep the old one as a backup just in case since they said I don’t need to send it back.I basically haven’t stopped wearing the Oura ring since I put it on, and I’ve used it on long walks, swimming (fully submerged in water), and for general daily activities and it works great! I wash it with soap and water when I wash my hands and take it off to give it an.wxtra good wipe down before popping it on the charger or putting it back on!

Best investment I made in years for my well-being!
MI have only been using the Oura Ring 4 for about four months, and it has completely changed the way I understand my body.As a woman, the cycle tracking alone has been incredibly valuable. Being able to see how different phases of my cycle affect my sleep, recovery, stress levels, energy, and overall readiness has helped me make much better decisions about work, exercise, and self-care. Instead of wondering why I feel different from one week to the next, I finally have data that helps me understand what is happening and adjust accordingly. The sleep tracking has been especially eye-opening. I thought I had a decent understanding of my sleep habits, but Oura showed me patterns I would never have noticed on my own. The stress tracking has also helped me become much more aware of when I need to slow down, recover, or prioritize rest before I burn out.I previously used RingConn, and in my experience Oura is on a completely different level. The insights are more meaningful, the app is more polished, and the overall experience feels much more focused on helping you understand and improve your health rather than simply collecting data.I know some people hesitate because of the subscription, but honestly, I think it is absolutely worth it. The value comes from the quality of the insights and the way the information is presented. It has helped me make tangible changes to my daily habits and overall well-being.Only four months in, and I already recommend Oura to all of my friends. It is one of the few health and wellness purchases that has genuinely exceeded my expectations. If you are looking for a wearable that helps you better understand your sleep, stress, recovery, and cycle health, I cannot recommend the Oura Ring 4 highly enough.

Amazing data collection… but a very steep price and short life.
Note: This is a long term review, after owning the ring for 10 months. It disappoints me to have to give this a 1 star review, because when the ring works, it works. It’s very convenient, accurate, un-intrusive to wear, and gives you a ton of valuable data, especially related to your cardiovascular system. But, out of the blue about 10 months into my ownership, battery life has cratered, and even when it doesn’t run fully discharged, it has randomly started disconnecting, meaning it’s not harvesting the data that I expect and want it to, and even worse, without full days of data, it won’t build any trends, meaning the limited data it does collect is useless. Reading online it seems I am not the only person experiencing this disappointment.Oura’s customer service is non existent. I have yet to figure out how to get in contact with a human there. All their customer service is routed through “Finn” their AI assistant. After trying everything that “Finn” has recommended numerous times, and getting nowhere, it would be an understatement to say I am frustrated. One of “Finn’s” suggestions is to fully wipe the ring and app from your phone and reinstall it, and if that doesn’t work, the implication from the system is that it will then elevate it to a customer service rep. The issue with that is when you do that, a hard reset and reinstall, the record with “Finn” also seems to go with it, so the system will never engage a human, it comes across almost like it’s intentional firewall in their service.I am coming up on my 1 year membership renewal. I am at the point where I need to decide if I need to make the $72 annual investment again. I would gladly spend that again, but I’m not really looking at a $72 investment. Given my current ring performance, this means buying another ring. Between the membership and a new ring, with taxes, shipping, etc, etc, etc that’s a near $500 investment; and since it only made it 10 months, that really means it’s effectively closer to $600 a year.Battery powered wearables have a limited life; I went into this understanding that, but, I don’t think that after less than a year of usage, going from ~5 days of battery life and collecting non-stop data to less than 24 hours of life with random crashes is in any way acceptable. Apple or Garmin or Google would have mass recalls or replacements on their hands if their wearables behaved like this.Good health is priceless. The ring helped me tremendously in my fitness journey. I have lost over 65 lbs with its help. At this point, however, given I have hit and am maintaining my weight goal, and from my current experience as well as based on what I read from others online, I refuse to spend any more money with Oura, simply because of their poor customer service and poor product life.My final thoughts: the ring makes your fitness journey significantly easier. Data is king when you’re committed to self improvement. For that, I give it 5 stars; but if you buy one, understand that it most likely will not make it to a year without some sort of collection or battery issue. You have to decide for yourself if $500 for 10-ish months of data is a fair price to pay.

1 Month Post Purchase Review
Overall, I love it. I’m gonna break down my review as to why I love it and based on what you’re looking for in a smart ring to determine if this is a good fit for you.First, appearance. It doesn’t look masculine and is fairly scratch resistant. With any jewelry, you’re going to have a little scratching on the underside if you do anything with your hands. There’s plenty of protection options if that’s something you want to look into, but honestly I’ve had minimal scratching and it doesn’t bother me. It fit closer to my actual ring size, but you need to get sized to figure out your actual size. Oura offers a $10 you can order, but I personally just went to Best Buy and got my size off the display there. I believe Target also has sizers in the Oura display. But you do need to get fitted to know if the sensors are at an optimal location for best readings.Next category is App Quality. I really like the app and the reliability of the data it provides. I am not a super intense workout person, so it is perfect for my low impact workouts. I’ve heard people say it doesn’t provide accurate HR readings in higher intensity workouts, I see some improvement for that as you can have it track live HR data. I know a lot of people complain about the subscription and I just want to clarify that because I looked at that myself. The annual subscription is $69.99, monthly is $5.99. You can use the tracker without a subscription, however it gives you very basic data feedback. It tracks the basics, but does not give you pointers for improvement or how to better your scores. With the subscription, you’re not only paying for the insights, but you’re also paying for the access to Oura Advisor, the AI integration that can give even further insights to the data you have logged in app and the feature to simply take a photo of a meal for meal logging.Women’s Health: I personally like it. I have used Apple Health for many many years so it’s my primary for reliability in start dates, but I like the detailed data with Oura. I think with further use of the Oura I might 100% convert to it but for now I can’t decide which I like better.Given my current medical, this is a fantastic tool for me. Tags has been the best way for me to tie symptoms to more probable causes rather than wondering and guessing or assuming. I was most drawn to that feature, but you have to remember to add the tags for it to be most effective. If simple tracking without a bulky smartwatch is more what you’re looking for, this will definitely do that for you but cheaper alternatives can do the same if you’re looking to save some money. If you have more complex medical and want the data insights to your health and be more in tune with your body, you want the Oura ring with a subscription. The good news is that you can actually use an FSA / HSA for both the ring and the subscription. Mine gave me almost no trouble as far as documentation when I purchased them.

Lower stress, better sleep, key insights on health and wellbeing
I’ve owned mine for just over a year and wanted to wait before posting a review.I wasn’t in the market to buy a device like this, but I had some FSA money I needed to spend. Now, I don’t want to go a day without it! I used to prefer only using Fitbit, but this is much more convenient and accurate. The cons: a little bulky as far as a ring is concerned, so it has caused me to form a callous on the finger where I wear it most frequently. On top of the up front cost being significantly higher than my Fitbits, there’s a monthly subscription fee for the app and the ring is useless without it (no screen on the ring means the only way to see the info is via the app).Pros: much more convenient, comfortable, helpful, and insightful than my Fitbits. I have to charge it maybe once a week for an hour or two. There’s no screen to break or clock faces to purchase. No complicated or useless extra features, apps, or poorly routed Bluetooth phone calls. The data measured is presented by the app in a useful and insightful way.Example: when it measured an increase in my basal body temp, it combined that with other info to inform me that my cycle was about to start.Example: It gives a readiness score which tells me how much energy I should plan on having that day and suggestions for increasing my score. While it’s not a continuous or on demand monitor for things like temp and blood oxygen, it does measure and track them which is not something my Fitbit could even do.It is also pretty accurate at detecting when I fall asleep and when I wake up (even if it’s for a snack at 2am), and how well I slept. Best part- I forget I’m wearing it most of the time. The ring just stays on my finger- even when I shower or swim or cook or clean so there’s very little interruption to the info it’s gathering.

Smart ring useful for tracking some health stats, but many you may already have on your phone.
This version of the Oura works OK, but I probably won’t renew my subscription.I purchased this mostly to track my sleep. I’m not a runner or much of an athlete these days, and all of my exercise tracking can be handled by my phone and watch for the most part, but they need to be re-charged daily, so I can’t really track my sleep unless I want to carry around multiple chargers.I thought the ring would solve this issue, and for the most part it does. Sleep tracking is accurate for the most part, but since I frequently nap or have my sleep interrupted by life, the ring doesn’t always pick up on my catnaps or understand that I went back to sleep later in the night. My main issue with the ring is the comfort. The ring sizer said I was size 11, but the sizer and the ring are not made of the same material, so I would recommend getting a half size larger, if that were possible. The ring is also thicker than many rings so I find it annoying between my fingers. I rarely forget that it’s there, and I frequently find myself fiddling with it during the day.Setting up the charger is needlessly finicky in my opinion, since you have to line up the dimple with the light on the charger or nothing happens. Fortunately the LED lights up when you get it right, but it’s slightly delayed. This is a minor issue, since you get used to the process soon enough. I really despise proprietary chargers. My other complaint is the lack of notification about the battery level. I think twice I went a couple of days with a ring that had no charge and didn’t notice it, so I lost those days’ data. Maybe this is a me issue and not an Oura issue, so I may have to look into changing the settings somewhere. This would be a better product with a longer battery life and a thinner band. It does track my sleep well enough, but it seems like a lot to pay for the subscription if that’s the only feature I’m using.Another issue is one I had with a smart band I had previously and returned. You have to look at your phone to find out anything, and once you’re on your phone you have all the other distractions at hand. If the lights on the inside of the ring could be used for information, this might be a better choice for me.

Accurate tracking and great quality smart ring
I’ve been using the Oura Ring 4 daily, and I’m very impressed with its design and functionality. It’s lightweight, comfortable to wear all day, and doesn’t feel bulky at all.The health tracking features are very detailed, especially sleep and activity insights, which have helped me better understand my daily habits. The app is easy to use and provides clear information. The finish in gold looks elegant and high quality. One important thing is to make sure to measure your size correctly before purchasing, as the fit is very important for comfort and accuracy.Overall, I’m very satisfied with this smart ring and would definitely recommend it for anyone interested in health tracking in a minimal and stylish form.

Would recommend!
Initially got this because my insurance covered the cost. Ended up really liking it. Gives good insight into your overall health – activity, sleep, cycles, stress. Like any data driven device, the more info you share and the more you use it the more you get out of it. Once it gets to know you, it starts to call out signals. It flagged that I was about to get a cold based on my body temp + a few other factors. I like the ai functions for questions about the data or the app itself + you can scan food with your phone and it’ll analyze the meal as well as what else you might need to fuel your day. Get the sizing kit, wear it for a week or so to find your best ring fit. Charge lasts a handful of days so you’re not constantly taking it off to charge.

Read this review if you are considering the Oura ring!
Let me start by saying I REALLY wanted to like this ring! I wouldn’t have spent so much money on it if I wasn’t all in!My first disappointment came from, just learning/realizing that the ring did not have the functionality that, I had understood it to have.Does it track your heart rate?Mmmmm… sort of. If you are hoping for it to track your heart rate while you are exercising, you are going to be sorely disappointed. It does heart rate readings every 10 to 30 minutes. No matter what you’re doing. That is one reading every 10 to 30 minutes… Which by the way you have no control of so it might be 10, it might be . So if you’re hoping to capture your peak heart rate while you are exercising, good luck. There is a function where you can record your workout and, I thought maybe that would be a workaround but no, all that really does is, record your path with GPS tracking to give you a visual of the route you took. And it’ll take a couple heart rate readings but, again, not at any meaningful regular interval while you are exercising. There is a manual function to check your heart rate which, has to be selected in the app and then it asks you to stay still for 30 seconds so that it can take your heart rate… And again, if you’re exercising, and you want your heart rate being tracked, you can’t stop everything and pull out your phone every few minutes to force it to take a reading. And, don’t forget, to also stop and be still so that it can take the reading.🤦♀️Does it detect when you are stressed? One of the features this ring boasts is, tracking your stress. Supposedly, your body gives off particular signals when you are stressed and, the App puts a lot of focus on the amount of stress that you’ve had during your day. The problem is, it’s wildly inaccurate. It goes further to say that, eating, exercising, or doing things you enjoy can all give off those same signals as stress lol so, it’s not really a very useful metric for anything IMO. It will say I am stressed when I am eating, when I am exercising, but even when I am doing something relaxing and enjoyable like, in my garden interestingly enough, it has correctly detected a few times that I got particular news that sent my stress levels way up. It did pick those up. But, again, how useful is it if, it picks up so much of everything else as stress also 😆 I mean unless you are just a slug and lay around all day, it’s going to report that you had stress throughout the day 🤷♀️And how about that subscription? Does the ring give basic metrics without the subscription? No. Big fat no. This is my biggest problem with this ring. I didn’t know if I felt like that the subscription would be valuable enough to me so I made sure before I purchased it that, if I didn’t want the extras of the subscription that the ring would still continue to track the most basic things like, step count. And, it reports that it does do that. HOWEVER, what they fail to mention is that, they don’t make that data available for you to see anywhere anymore lol and, it no longer updates Apple health or whatever other app you are integrating in with. So, it does NOTHING without the subscription. The only thing it will do is give you these silly readiness scores for your day. If it feels like you got a good nights sleep then it will give you a good readiness score for the day and a good sleep score. But you will see absolutely none of the data that went into building that score. No more steps, no more heart rate, no more anything. That’s IT. You can buy a ring for a fraction of the price that gives you all way more functionality, WITHOUT a Subscription. The way they make it sound before you purchase is that the subscription gives you a lot of extras. And I was willing to pay that if I felt like those extras were really valuable but because the data is so wildly inaccurate, I didn’t feel like it was particularly valuable what I thought I was getting as an “extra” From the subscription. Had I known it wouldn’t do the most basic thing to count steps without a subscription, and actually show them to me either in the app or by writing them to Apple health, I would have never purchased this ring. You’ve been warned! Good luck!

Excellent device, poor battery longevity
I purchased a rind 1.5 years ago and have used it every day since. Here is what I love about it: 1) Great insight into your basic health metrics and the app is easy to understand and provides helpful reporting. 2) looks great and is much more comfortable to sleep with than a watch. 3) allows me to wear an analog watch and still track movement and steps, as well as all health functions. 4) great battery life for the fist year, 5) great build quality. I train with weights daily and regularly hike, backpack and even took it for a 3 week through hike of the VT Long Trail with no issues or damage to the ring.Neutral: 1) size is a bit much and can feel a bit big on my finger, I don’t wear jewelry so that could be why, 2) I have to take it off to do pull-ups, deadlifts or anything where the ring compresses against the bar. Not just because the ring could get damaged but also because the pressure digs the ring into my finger and it can be painful or get in the way of my grip. 3) charging is a bit slow 4) fitness tracking even with my iphone connected for tracking my location and movement is fairly poor compared to my garmin GPS watch. This is probably to be expected but for those of you thinking about using this as your sole fitness tracking system I would think twice. Milage is consistently off (lower) then using my Garmin Enduro.Negatives: 1) Biggest issue: The battery life slowly dies. When I first got the ring I could go 5-6 days between charges, now at 1.5 years I’m charging it every other day. At $400 for the ring I would expect better battery longevity. 2) I didn’t find much use for Symptom Radar. It tended to make me paranoid rather than providing useful data. Not once when it provided an alert did I get sick and it gave me a ton of false positives like when I came home after an overnight flight, had a few too many drinks, ate too much before bed, etc. I eventually turned it off and haven’t missed it at all.Overall I still love my Oura ring and it would amazingly with my iPhone. After a year and a half of daily use (it only comes off to charge) the ring still looks great.
